Dancing Mindfulness

What is Dancing Mindfulness?

Dancing Mindfulness is an expressive arts practice developed by clinical counselor and trauma specialist, Dr. Jamie Marich. Dancing Mindfulness uses music and movement to practice being in the present moment in an atmosphere of non-judgment and respect for each participant’s individual experience. Dancing Mindfulness classes can be used in clinical settings with both individual and group therapy and it can also be used in community classes, such as at yoga studios, as another avenue for practicing mindfulness and body awareness. Dancing Mindfulness is a body positive practice that does not require participants to have experience with dance or yoga and is open to people of all abilities and fitness levels.

Distance Facilitator Training

Dr. Marich designed Dancing Mindfulness as a practice that can be easily learned by people who are experiencing the call to facilitate, whether through a distance learning format or in live group trainings. Information about the format and requirements of the distance training can be found here. If you are interested in becoming certified as a Dancing Mindfulness facilitator through the distance training program, please contact us.

C Change values diversity, because it is understood that all persons have their own stories that define their journey in life. We do not judge based on your body, your color, who you love, your age, your gender, or your sex. Instead, we celebrate the unique perspective that you bring to our collaboration and community. We seek to provide support in the unfolding of your story through hard discussions and identification of the traumas and oppressions trapped within your muscles. We are here to witness the development of your voice as you find your narrative.
